Piksel Capture App – Developed in 2021 – Jeffrey Korn – Product Manager
The Piksel Capture App was targeted at a low cost market aiming to promote streaming technology to users who had limited resources. The app allows a user to produce video content with an iOS or Android device and either webcast or upload a video asset for streaming on the Piksel network. The barrier to entry for some users is the ability to use the full streaming workflow. Many Piksel app users could also be augmenting existing production services. This provided an additional option for many existing clients as well.
Video Streaming – November 2006 – Derrick Freeman – GeniusDV interviews Jeffrey Korn – Vchange LLC
In 2006, Derrick Freeman, a streaming media evangelist, asked me to discuss how streaming was influencing the broadcast space, and to help his podcast audience understand the complexities of streaming with local area networks (LAN), which at the time were not accustomed to high bitrate traffic associated with streaming video.
Wesco Advertising Spot – 2006 – Producer
In 2006, Wesco approached Vchange to work on an advertising spot to promote its new self-storage facility. Wesco asked for an ad that would promote its products and services, and that would represent the new features of the facility. I examined different aspects of the self-storage facility, including the wine storage, RV storage, spacious storage units, and biometriic access as part of developing the idea behind the spot. Casino Royale, the latest Bond movie at the time, starring the new James Bond, Daniel Craig, was scheduled to be released. I took this theme and worked with the Vchange team, including Neal Mhaskar, and Chris Foran, to develop the story board. I also set up a casting process to judge talent for the spot. We ultimately created a story board that reflected the action to be filmed in the shot.

Wesco Advertising Spot – Voice-Over Version
The final production involved a full video production crew. The vehicle used by the male lead was leased from a nearby dealership. I also contracted a musician to score the ad. The audio dubbing was used in different versions of the ad. The ad was broadcast in the Los Angeles area, primarily the SouthBay market. It also played on different Internet channels and was used in advertising distribution across different Internet SSPs.
